What you get with the Crickett CPR Package Black
CPR stands for Crickett Precision Rifle. It takes the single shot Crickett action and puts it in a precision stock with an adjustable length of pull (10.375, 11.125 or 11.875 inches), an adjustable cheek piece and Crickettinny rails front and rear.
Length of pull is 13.5 inches, which suits most young shooters, it weighs about 4.7 pounds and it comes with a Picatinny optics rail. Synthetic stock models are drilled for sling swivel screws, so you can add a sling for carrying.
Bluing is the classic finish on a .22. Wipe it with a lightly oiled rag after a wet day and it stays in good shape for years.
Crickett CPR Package Black package contents
- Scope with sun shade
- Bipod
- Crickettinny scope rail
- Threaded bull barrel
- Trigger lock plus eye and ear protection
Everything in the box is ready to go together, so you don’t need to shop for rings or mounts. Mount it, check the screws, and zero at 25 yards first, then move back to 50.
The .22 LR cartridge
The .22 Long Rifle is the cheapest and quietest common cartridge, with almost no recoil. That’s why most people learn to shoot with one. It’s also good for squirrels, rabbits and plinking out to about 75 yards. Wikipedia has a good .22 Long Rifle history, and SAAMI publishes the chamber drawings.

Set the cheek piece before anything else, so the eye lines up with the scope naturally. Shooting off the bipod with a rear bag teaches the same steady routine used in PRS style matches.
Is the Crickett CPR Package Black right for you?
Most buyers pick the Crickett CPR Package Black for one of these reasons:
- Grandparents who want to start a grandkid shooting
- Youth programs and 4-H shooting clubs
- Adults who want a light trapping or camp gun
Supervise young shooters every time. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has a helpful safety resource page for families.
Keeping it in good shape
After a range day, run a few patches through the bore from the breech end and wipe the metal down. Store the rifle unloaded and locked, with the ammo kept somewhere else. A cable lock through the open action is cheap and works.
