Crickett KSA2148 Precision Muddy Girl features
This is the Crickett take on a precision rifle: a scaled down PRS style stock with an adjustable cheek piece, a heavier barrel and rails for accessories. It’s still a single shot, so you load and cock it for every round.
Length of pull is 11 1/8 inches, which suits most young shooters, it comes with a Picatinny optics rail. The Crickett line carries a lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship from the maker.
Bluing is the classic finish on a .22. Wipe it with a lightly oiled rag after a wet day and it stays in good shape for years.
What’s in the Crickett KSA2148 Precision Muddy Girl box
- 4×28 scope with sun shade
- Adjustable bipod
- Muzzle brake on a threaded bull barrel
- EZ Loader feed ramp
- Crickettinny rails on the buttstock and forend
Buying the package saves you from matching a scope and mount to the rifle yourself. Mount it, check the screws, and zero at 25 yards first, then move back to 50.
Why .22 Long Rifle?
A .22 LR costs a few cents per round and barely moves the rifle when it fires. Kids can shoot a whole box without flinching, and it’s plenty for small game and tin cans. Wikipedia has a good .22 Long Rifle history, and SAAMI publishes the chamber drawings.

Rimfire ammo is dirty, so clean the bore every few hundred rounds and wipe the bolt face. Store the rifle unloaded in a case or safe. Teach the shooter to check the chamber every time they pick it up.
