The Crickett Purple Synthetic 22 WMR combines a purple stock, a blued steel 16.1 inch barrel and the .22 WMR (22 Magnum) cartridge. It sells for $139 at Crickett Firearms America. Order online and we ship it to the FFL dealer you name at checkout.
What you get with the Crickett Purple Synthetic 22 WMR
It’s a single shot bolt action that has to be cocked by hand after the bolt closes. The rebounding firing pin stays blocked until then. For a first rifle, that slow loading routine is a feature, since it builds the habit of treating every shot on purpose.
Length of pull is 12 inches, which suits most young shooters, it weighs about 3 pounds and it comes with iron sights and a receiver drilled and tapped for an optics rail. The Crickett line carries a lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship from the maker.
Blued steel looks sharp and costs a little less than stainless. A quick wipe with an oily rag after use keeps rust away.
Why choose 22 Magnum?
The .22 WMR (22 Magnum) shoots a 30 to 40 grain bullet much faster than a .22 LR, so it carries more energy out to 100 yards and beyond. It’s a good step up for groundhogs, coyotes at close range and other small varmints. Ammo costs more than .22 LR and the report is louder. SAAMI lists the official cartridge and chamber drawings, and Wikipedia has a readable .22 WMR history.

Fitting the Crickett Purple Synthetic 22 WMR
Check fit at home first. The butt should sit in the pocket of the shoulder, the cheek should rest on the stock and the trigger finger should reach without stretching. If the rifle is a little long, the shooter will lean back, and that’s when accuracy falls apart.
