Crickett 722 Sporter 20 Inch details
The 722 is the Crickett for shooters who’ve outgrown a single shot. It’s a bolt action repeater with a 7 round self-retaining snap lock magazine with stainless steel feed lips, a short 5 inch receiver with 1.6 inches of bolt travel and a cock on open bolt.
Its 20 inch 4140 steel barrel is micro button rifled with a 1:16 twist, and the maker rates the 722 for MOA accuracy. The walnut stock and adjustable rear sight make it a classic looking squirrel rifle.
The blued barrel has the traditional look. Keep a light coat of oil on it and store it dry.
The .22 LR cartridge
The .22 Long Rifle is the cheapest and quietest common cartridge, with almost no recoil. That’s why most people learn to shoot with one. It’s also good for squirrels, rabbits and plinking out to about 75 yards. For the technical side, see the SAAMI cartridge drawings or the .22 LR article on Wikipedia.
