Crickett Mossy Oak Scope Package 22 LR features
Every single shot Crickett works the same way. You open the bolt, drop in one round, close it, then pull the cocking knob back before the rifle will fire. That extra step gives a parent or instructor time to watch each shot.
Length of pull is 11.5 inches, which suits most young shooters, it weighs about 3 pounds and it comes with iron sights and a receiver drilled and tapped for an optics rail. Synthetic stock models are drilled for sling swivel screws, so you can add a sling for carrying.
Bluing is the classic finish on a .22. Wipe it with a lightly oiled rag after a wet day and it stays in good shape for years.
What’s in the Crickett Mossy Oak Scope Package 22 LR box
- Scope
- Scope mount
- Gun case
Everything in the box is ready to go together, so you don’t need to shop for rings or mounts. Mount it, check the screws, and zero at 25 yards first, then move back to 50.
.22 LR in the Crickett Mossy Oak Scope Package 22 LR
The .22 Long Rifle is the cheapest and quietest common cartridge, with almost no recoil. That’s why most people learn to shoot with one. It’s also good for squirrels, rabbits and plinking out to about 75 yards. Wikipedia has a good .22 Long Rifle history, and SAAMI publishes the chamber drawings.

Fitting the Crickett Mossy Oak Scope Package 22 LR
Check fit at home first. The butt should sit in the pocket of the shoulder, the cheek should rest on the stock and the trigger finger should reach without stretching. If the rifle is a little long, the shooter will lean back, and that’s when accuracy falls apart.
Who the Crickett Mossy Oak Scope Package 22 LR is for
Most buyers pick the Crickett Mossy Oak Scope Package 22 LR for one of these reasons:
- Adults who want a light trapping or camp gun
- Parents buying a first rifle for a child
- Grandparents who want to start a grandkid shooting
An adult should always supervise a young shooter. The NSSF firearm safety page has free material for teaching kids the basics.
Care and storage
Cleaning is easy. Remove the one takedown screw under the stock, lift out the barreled action, run a cleaning rod from the breech and wipe everything with a light oil. Store it unloaded with the bolt open or removed.
