Crickett Two Spacers Blued 22 LR details
The action is a manually cocking single shot bolt made from alloy nickel plated steel, and the firing pin rebounds so it’s blocked unless the rifle is cocked. One shot at a time is the point: a new shooter slows down and thinks about each one.
It comes with two length of pull spacers. Start short and add a spacer as the shooter grows, which stretches how long the rifle fits.
Blued steel looks sharp and costs a little less than stainless. A quick wipe with an oily rag after use keeps rust away.
Why .22 Long Rifle?
.22 Long Rifle ammo is cheap, easy to find and mild to shoot. It’s the standard for teaching, backyard plinking at a safe range and small game hunting. Wikipedia has a good .22 Long Rifle history, and SAAMI publishes the chamber drawings.

Getting the fit right
A rifle that’s too long is the most common reason kids struggle. With the stock in the shoulder, the child should reach the trigger with the first pad of the finger and keep the elbow bent. Crickett’s short length of pull is what makes that possible for small arms.
Is the Crickett Two Spacers Blued 22 LR right for you?
The Crickett Two Spacers Blued 22 LR is a good fit for:
- Parents buying a first rifle for a child
- Grandparents who want to start a grandkid shooting
- Youth programs and 4-H shooting clubs
Supervise young shooters every time. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has a helpful safety resource page for families.
Keeping it in good shape
After a range day, run a few patches through the bore from the breech end and wipe the metal down. Store the rifle unloaded and locked, with the ammo kept somewhere else. A cable lock through the open action is cheap and works.
