Our Crickett Amendments Stainless 22 LR pairs an Amendments stock with a stainless steel 16.1 inch barrel, chambered in .22 Long Rifle. It sells for $199 at Crickett Firearms America. Buy it online and pick it up from your local FFL dealer.
What you get with the Crickett Amendments Stainless 22 LR
Every single shot Crickett works the same way. You open the bolt, drop in one round, close it, then pull the cocking knob back before the rifle will fire. That extra step gives a parent or instructor time to watch each shot.
Length of pull is 12 inches, which suits most young shooters, it weighs about 3 pounds and it comes with iron sights and a receiver drilled and tapped for an optics rail. One takedown screw under the stock holds the barreled action in, which makes cleaning simple.
Stainless steel handles rain and sweaty hands better than bluing. It’s a good choice if this Crickett Amendments Stainless 22 LR will ride in a truck or get used at deer camp.
Why .22 Long Rifle?
A .22 LR costs a few cents per round and barely moves the rifle when it fires. Kids can shoot a whole box without flinching, and it’s plenty for small game and tin cans. Wikipedia has a good .22 Long Rifle history, and SAAMI publishes the chamber drawings.

Fitting the Crickett Amendments Stainless 22 LR
Fit matters more than looks. Have the child shoulder the rifle with both eyes open. If they can see the sights without craning the neck and reach the trigger comfortably, the stock fits. A short length of pull is the reason these rifles work for kids.
Is the Crickett Amendments Stainless 22 LR right for you?
Most buyers pick the Crickett Amendments Stainless 22 LR for one of these reasons:
- Youth programs and 4-H shooting clubs
- Adults who want a light trapping or camp gun
- Parents buying a first rifle for a child
Supervise young shooters every time. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has a helpful safety resource page for families.
Keeping it in good shape
Rimfire ammo is dirty, so clean the bore every few hundred rounds and wipe the bolt face. Store the rifle unloaded in a case or safe. Teach the shooter to check the chamber every time they pick it up.
